My First on the First!

It’s been a while since I have been living in a dorm and man it’s tough! Doing all this budgeting and my favorite part; sleeping late at night and waking up not-so-late in the morning since I’m just blocks away from the university.

For the past 3 months never will a day would past without being tardy or rather late in one of my classes. I’ll admit that it’s a darn excuse to be late in class knowing that I’m just blocks aways from St. Raymund’s Building.

First of August in 2008, it all happened in that morning. I woke up later that 5:30 and rushed in the bathroom and do my thing. It happened as if the clock stopped and ran out of batteries. I was shocked learning that I didn’t snoozed my alarm clock for the next 5 minutes to extend my sleeping haven.  I arrived in school 30 minutes before my 7AM class. IT WAS MY FIRST FOR THIS ACADEMIC YEAR! Man! It feels good!

But, do you know why I woke up that early? ‘Coz it’s the first of the month and the Landlady collects payments for the dorm so I dashed my way out readily to escape her wrath. What a good way to start the month, eh? Cheers!

Besta?

Kagabi pumunta ako sa computer shop dyis oras ng madaling araw dahil may kailangan akong i-send kay Chad kasi nga nakalimutan kong isend yung powerpoint file na kailangan niya. Kaya naman nagmadali ako at pumunta sa computer shop.

 

ER: Tita, wala pong internet.

Old Lady: Baka dahil diyan sa nakasaksak (flash disk) mo kaya ayaw gumana. Tanggalin mo muna.

ER: Hindi naman po kasi– (sabay tanggal ng flash disk)

Ayun nga, tinry ko ulet at ayun ayaw pa ring gumana ng internet kaya naman tinawag ko ulit siya at pinacheck ang computer na gamit ko. Cinlose na niya ang mga tabs sa browser ko at kinalikot ang desktop na parang expert. At sinabing…

 

Old Lady: Kasi sabi ng anak ko dapat marunong yung gagamit nito sa Bes.

ER: Anu po?

Old Lady: Bes.

ER: Ah. Yung anu po?

Old Lady: Bes– BESTA.

Natawa ako ng bahagya, aaminin ko. Hindi ko kasi mapigilan. Vista pala ang ibig sabihin niya at siyempre pinaikli pa niya: BES for BESTA! Panalo pare.

Kuya Guard

Tuwing 11:00 na ng gabi pag papasok kami sa dorm eh laging nakahilata na sa upuan niya ang guard namen dito. Grabe, pano masasabing safe ang lugar namen? Mahusay.

Pag dadaan nga kami ni Margo lagi naming sinasabi, “Safe na safe tayo ah.” sabay tawa. haha.

Totoo naman diba? Wow Kalabaw lang.

Budgeting

Ang hirap.

Ang hirap magbudget ng pera lalo na kung kulang pa ang binibigay sa’yong allowance ng pambuong-linggo. Minsan pare naiiyak talaga ‘ko sa pagbubudget. May ganito, may ganyan, kelangan bayaran ‘to, kelangan ding bayaran yan. Ang sakit sa ulo.

Kung pwede lang kumuha ng unlimited supply ng pera sa nearest ATM machine diyan sa dorm eh oras-oras ko nang ginawa. Cash flow beybeh! Pwede bang umiyak?

Nahihiya na ‘kong humingi ng extra allowance sa tatay ko kasi naman andami na din naman niyang iniintinding bayarin sa bahay. Sumasakit na nga din ulo niya sa kakabudget ko ng gastusin. Oh-ha, at least nagbu-budget ako ng gastusin!

Sa ngayon, gusto kong humanap ng raket para naman may pang-extra breads ako. Ang hirap ng umaasa lang  sa weekly allowance eh. Heavy mehn.

Where’s Your Manners!?

Here’s something that alot of people may not know. There’s this thing they call Netiquette. It is actually derived from two words namely ‘Networking’ and ‘Etiquette’. Found this somewhere in the Online Blackboard Suite on one of the courses I am enrolled in. It’s worth reading.

Alam ko maraming tao ang nalulungkot kapag umuulan. May sudden emotional change daw na nangyayari kapag pumapatak na ang ulan. Ang wirdo noh? Ulan lang yun ha.

Ewan ko pero ako pag umuulan, oo may sudden emotional change pero, masaya ako. Hindi ko alam kung bakit. Kasi siguro malamig. Kasi siguro nakakaenganyo ang tunog ng ulan lalo na pag tumatama ito sa kisame ng bahay niyo.

Ang sarap pakingan ng ulan. Tapos umiinom ka ng mainit na kape tapos kasama mo–.

Teka, mag-uunat lang ako.

Ayun, sabi ko nga napakasarap sa pakiramdam pag umuulan; para sakin, tila pinapasaya nito ang bawat taong nakakarinig ng himig nito. Parang sinasabi niya na lumabas ka ng bahay mo at magtampisaw kasama niya, magpakabasa at maging masaya na parang wala kang pakialam sa mundo.

Malamig at presko sa pakiramdam kaya na lang siguro nagustuhan ko ang ulan. Yung mga tubig na dumadaan sa salamin ng bintana mo, yung mga tila hangin na na patak ng ulan at ang makulimlim na langit; napakasarap.

Tara, ligo tayo sa ulan.
